A little adventure, a little culture, and plenty of time to make it back to your jacuzzi.

Off the beaten path

The Children's Eternal Rainforest

Bosque Eterno de los Niños is the largest private reserve in Costa Rica, and it exists because children around the world raised money to protect it. Its Pocosol side sits in the forested hills on this side of the mountains, about 40 minutes from La Tigra by four-wheel drive and far from the usual La Fortuna crowds.

Ten kilometers of trails run through primary and secondary forest to a hidden lagoon, a waterfall and steaming fumaroles. It is one of the best places in the area for birdwatching, with day and night walks led by naturalist guides. Tell us when you would like to go and we will help you plan it.
